I watched more of it last night. I have now watched 9 episodes of the show, so I think I have 3 more to go in Season 1. It's much better than Discovery.
The big weakness of Discovery was not making it an ensemble show and having these insane stakes every season. Star Trek works so much better when it's smaller stories that allow the whole cast/crew to shine.
Img that whisper voice and the way her head drooped to one side like her hair is too heavy anything she had to monologue about anything I'd sp freaking annoying
IA. I don't hate Burnham, but Disco is so plainly the Michael Burnham Show in a way that really takes away from what I love about Trek shows. The ensemble cast of Disco just didn't get enough time to shine and develop as characters and that really held Disco back. SNW is letting the ensemble cast have their moments and is using episodic storytelling to explore the characters. It's completely nailing what made the 90s Trek shows so good.
Yeah, exactly. I don't even mind the idea of having a Star Trek show with *a* main character for a bit, that's a perfectly fine thing to explore, but making it the same character season after season with the fate of the universe hanging on a thread every time is just too much. I'd rather have a silly episode hanging out with Detmer and Owosekun on their day off or something. lol
To be fair, I feel they started to give the supporting cast more room since the time jump but it's still too little too late.
