Margot is def a hustler. In the Vogue interview she mentioned that purposely kept close tabs on the Barbie development from when Amy was mentioned to Anne casting. She said she herself never really played with Barbies as a kid only when she visited her cousin who did.

But she saw the appeal of the IP and Barbie's overall pop culture popularity which is why she went for it after the Anne Hathaway thing went south.

I like Margot a lot but I wouldn’t give her too much credit given her last few films have been huge misses lol. She’s made some bad choices of late tbh.

That being said this could be her legally blonde moment. She really should take notes on Reese’s career moves because they have similar strengths (not just because of the blonde thing!) and Reese has had a very enviable career all things considered.

Oh yeah she's made some blips there although the stuff she's produced with her production company has done well (except for BOP).

Funny enough I was discussing with another user a while back on how if they had this Barbie movie in the early 00s, I could've seen Reese as the Barbie character. And in some ways Elle Woods and Barbie are the same character to a degree lol.

That and she did it through her production company. Very smart indeed.
