I went through a phase where I hated Guy, because there was some rumor that he said homophobic things. Then I softened on him because he does a lot of charity work. Now I can go back to hating him.

I've heard other ppl mention his homophobia which always threw me off bc his sister was a lesbian and he officiated a bunch of same sex marriages. Not that he couldn't say homophobic things anyway but leaves me very ??

I have always detested Guy. While I appreciate that he does nice things like cook meals for firefighters during our annual fire season and work with charities, that hasn't changed my opinion of him. That's mostly because I know that there are lots of people who collect clothing for the homeless, volunteer at soup kitchens, help at their church's assistance programs, donate money to worthy organizations, etc. and are still racist/sexist/homophobic/otherwise assholes so I never felt any conflict about disliking him.

lttp but you definitely can. I have to add that his real name is Guy Ferry. That was his name until he was 25 and then he changed it to Fieri, supposedly in honor of his Italian grandfather, but some people who know him say it was because he didn't want to be called Ferry. He insists his name is pronounced "fee-etti," but there's no t in Fieri.
