Has this been happening and people are reporting it more, or have people stared doing it more often?

Harry's been hit repeatedly. Even his mom posted about it before. Fans have been throwing stuff since the 1D days but I feel like he's actually getting hurt more now that he's gone solo.

idk i've been to plenty of gigs where stuff got thrown around but they were smaller indie/punk shows where the artist just took it in their stride, not just straight up lobbing something at someone's head because you wanna go viral or whatever, it feels like people are trying to outdo each other now and that is absolutely not gonna end well

I've been at gigs where people have thrown things, but like you they were smaller shows, not to mention people didn't tend to aim at the performer.

I definitely remember in the 90s/00s that at shows like NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, people would throw items on stage like teddy bears that they were hoping the group would take home as a gift. But they aimed for the stage and not the guys in the group. Usually the guys would just throw them back into the audience I think.

That's still a bit suboptimal because they risk slipping and falling on something thrown onstage, but this latest wave of people intentionally aiming for the person onstage is next level.
