July 4, 2023 The latest series of Running Wild with Bear Grylls premieres on National Geographic this Sunday.
The celebrities that are joining Bear to drink piss explore the wilderness are:
Bradley Cooper, actor
Bradley was taken to the Wyoming Basin, USA where he leapt onto a hovering helicopter, rappelled down a 400-foot (121m) cliff and pulled himself across a 100-foot (30m) ravine in one of the harshest climates in North America. “He smashed it,” Grylls said. While sat atop one of the cliffs, Bradley said, “I was lucky, you know? I got sober at 29 years old, and you know, I’ve been sober for 19 years. I’ve been very lucky.”
Benedict Cumberbatch, actor
Benedict went to the Isle of Skye, Scotland, where his grandfather trained as a submariner. He learns how to use climbing talons and how to tie an Italian hitch knot. “It’s not the same as doing a stunt on a Marvel film. It’s a lot more real,” Cumberbatch says. His meal is seaweed and limpets.
Cynthia Erivo, actor
Cynthia was taken to the Brecon Beacons mountain range in Wales, where she learns how to rappel and navigate a labyrinth of caves before traversing a waterfall.
Troy Kotsur, actor
Troy went to the Scottish Highlands, descending 2,500 feet (760m) across eight miles (13 km), including a 150-foot (45m) rappel down a waterfall. Because Kotsur is deaf, the two men used rope tugs to communicate.
Daveed Diggs, rapper, actor
Daveed was in the Great Basin Desert in Nevada, USA. “I don’t know how this is going to go and that’s why I’m doing it,” he says. Diggs learns how to use anchor points, track a target and make a signal fire. His dinner is a tarantula.
Tatiana Maslany, actor
Tatiana went to Wyoming's Laramie Mountains, where she conquers massive cliff rappels, icy cliffs, and a zero-degree cold shock to the body to help her overcome her fears.
Russell Brand, activist
Russell Brand traverses across the coasts of the Hebrides Islands in Scotland in search of 16th-century castle ruins to shelter in.
Rita Ora, singer, actor
Rita was at the Valley of Fire in Nevada, USA following a 15,000-foot (4,570m) skydive, where she learns a chimney climb, butchers a dead pigeon, sacrifices her lip balm to make a fire and uses a sock to soak up water [OP: when will your faves].
