Yeah this is one of the few times a true crime drama could undo the damage media and entertainment did to these boys when the story first broke. Not that I trust Ryan Murphy but I could see it being better than all the shit that came before.

I had no clue they were victims until reading your comment.
I always see them portrayed as greedy, money-grubbing assholes so thank you.

Same! I had to read up on them. Seems like new evidence submitted this year might get them out

I think the recent Menudo stuff, new evidence and a general reevaluation of how we view and treat male CSA survivors has worked for them.

They killed their parents because their father threatened to kill them if they exposed him (and they had every reason to believe he was going to make good on that promise), but in the end, they were mocked and not believed anyway.

The fact that a lot of people gloss over that he threatened Erik's friend with a gun and told him if he ever saw him on his property again he would kill in front of another friend is so...like that man had a violent streak and I don't know if he would have necessarily killed either of them but I don't give abusers, especially abusers who were violent in front of people and enabled by the other parent, the benefit of the doubt tbh.

yeah, same, until the last post about this i always thought they were just spoiled trust fund kids who wanted the cash. i was a kid/young teen during the trials and that was very much their depiction in the media.

Yeah. Their father was a LEGIT monster. I'm sad they could only kill him once.

Yep, I didn't know about it either until recently! They were literally killing their abusers!

lyle kind of was-when you hear about how they blew their inheritance after the murders, 95% of that was lyle spending money. erik bought a new suit and watch for the funeral and then hired a tennis coach and that was basically it.

yeah the Versace season of ACS I think did a really good job of making its main character compelling and multifaceted but not sympathetic, and paradoxically that actually makes me hopeful about this? I know that doesn't make sense but it does to me lol

Maybe they'll portray their dad as a monster?

But, yeah, Ryan Murphy so who knows
