The pilot wasn't even very good tbh. The show doesn't really get going until 3-4 episodes in imo.

I agree, I just started watching last week, the pilot was boring, I almost gave up, but I finished episode 3 and it's getting good.

I have zero clue what the deal is these days with shows taking 3 4 or 5 episodes to get good. Even shows i love and promote aren't immune - Our Flag Means Death takes until episode 4 to get good. When shows are 10 episodes a season or less you can't waste that much time.

Yeah it's too bad. When shows got a 22 order first season it was fine to take time to dial in, but it impacts everything so much more with a short episode order. Just another reason the writer's strike is needed- if shows are given no time to find their groove, how will they reach their audience?

I mean, is the first ep or two actually not good, or are you just not invested in the characters yet? The first ep or two is reasonsible for the all the exposition... who these people are, why they are here, whats that thing.

Generally pilots are a bit of a bore because of that.

funny as I felt the opposite to be true (for me). It felt like they blew half the budget of the series on the pilot and then it almost just became a CBS kind of crime solving show. I also preferred the characters of the pilot. The actual lead is quite unlikable.

Same. The beginning intrigued me, and then it got very typical, and too many long action sequences that don't drive story forward. I gave up around episode 5 or 6

i thought the pilot was really interesting. i didnt like when it devolved into the crime solving parts but its looking up again. im still excited about watching. i do like juliette, but rebecca fergusons accent is so distracting. cannot stand george or their relationship
