• On whether he’s ever been asked to host SNL: “I think Lorne Michaels is scared of me or thinks I smell funny or something. The guy won’t arrest me.” (The interviewer interjects and says Michael smells fine, just for the record).
• He first met Jessica Chastain just a few days before shooting Take Shelter, the first production they starred in together. He says that Jeff Nichols introduced them and while she went for the hug, he went for the handshake, and blames his social awkwardness. “Because I was, I don’t know, socially awkward or something. She said, ‘No, no, no I’m not shaking your hand.’ And she gave me a hug. And the rest is history.”
• He says that his costuming on George and Tammy helped him a lot in that particular role.
