I imagine it requires less constant contact/financial entanglement than splitting each payment but lol it's kind of a Sister Sister/Parent Trap set up. Overall it seems pretty practical though (even with the age gap the big expenses are still to come for both) and the established boundaries for new partners are really healthy.
