Yeah, the only reason I think it wouldn’t have worked with Hamm is simply because he isn’t a very good actor…? He’s oddly charmless on screen. I also just don’t like him, so maybe that’s it.

I don't think I've seen him in anything recently but I loved him in bridesmaids lol I think being a character actor is where he shines.

Don Draper was flat so it checks out. He’s just not a good dramatic actor but he for that role perfectly.

Yes, both him and January Jones worked really well for their characters on Mad Men, but that def doesn't translate in every role for them.

Yeah I find it very interesting that January got so much crap for her acting when Jon is basically the same. Perfect for their Mad Men roles and the stylized flat dialogue, but not well suited to lots of other parts.

Whenever it's time for some Dick Whitman shit to come up, he acts the hell out of it. But as Don Draper, he is very flat. But it works for who that character is and the image he's desperate to reinforce.
