June 21, 2023 - After two box office bombs, "this is an unmitigated disaster," says one source.
- “When they called it ‘the greatest superhero movie’ - if it’s not correct, you’re setting yourself up to fail,” says an executive at a different rival studio. “In this environment, it’s better to underpromise and overdeliver.”
- “There can be audience fatigue when it comes to the obligation of having to watch 20 movies to understand a new one,” says one exec. “But it doesn’t matter when the movie is good.”
