Basically wanted her to be a trophy wife, but of course played the madly in love boy next door until they were married knowing how hard it is for Korean women to get divorced. Hye Kyo is amazing to be able to bounce back from all that <3

Edited to add: This is the gossip, obviously no one knows what actually went down. Although his father did have horrible things to say about SHK publicly and SJK's PR team leaned into it a lot.

Omg yes. I believe 1 of the question they ask him about why he fell for her and his answer was "Because she's Song Hye Kyo." He was such a superficial bish. And also, I felt like he felt that he won in getting her and boosted his star because lbh, she was a bigger star than him. Seeing how the divorce played out and his current wife, he really just wanted that trophy wife.

ya honestly i feel like most of these celeb marriage fall apart when the husband doesn't let wife be the big actress that she is...and also when the novelty? of being leads of that romance drama wear off lol idk how to describe but i felt like they got married too quickly after that big drama...i can't help but compare that to this chinese celeb couple that prudently took their time to get married after also being coupled in a big drama (nicky wu x liu shishi)
