The damage to her image was mounting up to pretty huge. Like, losing chunks of her fanbase huge. So she had to call it off. You know she's real angry with the fans who 'couldnt just let her be happy' but she created this monster and stoked it knowingly. We thought she'd grown out of it in her cottagecore phase but nope Midnights was straight back to the guessing game of who's this song about. Which...kinda does point to her and Joe having serious problems at that point

Honestly, i don't think she cared that her fans hated him. I don't think she cared that he was a racist misogynist. She probably cared that he made fun of her mom's weight. So if i had to guess, broken up.

I really don't think so. Girl seems hella sad. I genuinely think Matty was a welcome distraction (possibly even the reason she dared to leave Joe) and now that he's gone, she's crashing. She stopped introducing some of her secret songs, has cried during a few, and joked that she needed a drink the other night.
