this sucks, i feel bad for her.

acting like disney's lazy storytelling has anything to do with the casting is a choice. Halle seems quite charming in this even if the movie itself looks terrible

what were your thoughts on the other disney live actions?

I enjoyed Cinderella, Cruella and The Jungle Book. The The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast actively angered me with how bad they were lol. Aladdin I couldn’t even finish. Peter Pan & Wendy was ok but pretty boring. Alice & Wonderland, I don’t really appreciate its style. For that one I almost wish it was MORE like the original. Maleficent had good parts and bad parts. Haven’t seen the rest and not interested.

But TLM might be my fav because it brought such new life to an already classic story. It gave me a new perspective on Ariel and I appreciate the character so much more.

Actually it's not that bad and she's charming. I think it's one of their best love action adaptations

Beauty and the beast is awful, Cruella is overrated, Aladdin was meh but my kid loves it for some reason, Mulan was boring as hell, lion king was soulless imo

TLM is easily the best Disney live action imo, it's not ground breaking obviously but there's so much to like about it! I love how it expanded on the animation's narrative, and there are some really great performances. Halle is just perfect as Ariel, and her chemistry with Jonah/ Prince Eric is so natural and sweet❤

It's actually not a bad movie. I'm taking my mom to go see it with me for a second time. My sister cried when I took her because Halle killed it during "A Part of Your World". I don't cry but even I got a little teary eyed by her delivery.

Easily one of the better live action remakes we've had. Like damn I'm back in my little mermaid feels tbh
