OP, you wrote the actor's name as Michael Perrineau rather than Howard Perrineau (who played Michael)

I never liked Michael's character, but looking at it now, they really went out of their way to make him unlikable. The whole first season was just him being a deadbeat dad (another racist stereotype) and then he randomly killed two people out of nowhere.

The amount of times Michael yelled out Walt or where is my son, they wanted people to get annoyed by him.

I liked Michael probably just because I liked Harold Perrineau lol. But they really did his character dirty! I still liked the character bc he was just a tragic figure, but I understood why everyone thought he was annoying.

Michael murdering Ana Lucia and Libby always bugged me, too. Like maybe it would be in character if the Others straight up told him to hurt a specific person as a way to get Walt back, but we weren't shown that. Michael is a caring and resourceful person who designed and built a damn raft, you're telling us he couldn't engineer a different plan to break Ben out and chooses to shoot innocent people instead?
