• Family friends Jim and Bobye Holt were also interviewed. Their daughter Kaeleigh was courting Josh (dating but with the purpose of marriage, basically) a couple of years after Josh was caught molesting his sisters. When the Holts found out, Jim said Jim Bob flat-out admitted that they were using Kaeleigh as a "carrot" to try to correct Josh's abusive behaviour. Jim Bob also said they planned for Josh to tell Kaeleigh after they were married.

Jesus Christ, can you imagine being told that your daughter will be used to "straighten out" someone's perversity, and that she wouldn't be told until AFTER the arranged marriage? Thank the goddess Jim Holt cared enough about his daughter to say Hell No to that. That was a armour piercing bullet dodged.

yeah, jim holt is a piece of shit in his own way but i'm glad kaeleigh could get the hell out of there. it's so bleak that actually caring about your daughter's happiness and safety is the exception rather than the rule amongst their circles.

I remember from my research for my posts on the Duggars that it was JIM-BOB who broke the engagement to punish Josh, then allegedly picked Anna for him instead. At least Bobye Holt testified against Josh during the trial after Jim-Bob tried to have her blocked. Jim Holt is shit, fuck him.

TBF, Anna's just as brainwashed as the rest of the women in this movement. I don't think she's in a place where leaving Josh is even an option. It would be a bigger sin to "abandon" Josh for being a legit criminal than the actions that led him into jail in the first place.
