IGN: It’s impressive that the sequel doesn’t just use the extended cast for pure novelty value, but takes care to flesh them out further.
DISCUSSING FILM:It’s a massive, shockingly subversive take on the wall-crawler that takes every single aspect of the first film, remixes it, and improves upon it.
THE VERGE: While Into the Spider-Verse touched on something quite similar, Across the Spider-Verse takes a much more pointed, meta approach with its commentary about Miles and, in doing so, encourages you to think very critically but meaningfully about who Miles represents and what it means when people dismiss the very simple fact that he is Spider-Man.
VARIETY: There's so many plot mentions in this one so I'll just leave this bit; Miles is going to have to do something very dark to preserve the integrity of the Spider-Verse.
I was looking for some critical or middling reviews but those came from individuals without publications.
