It's true, sometimes you know who you want to have children with and who you don't and it just clicks with certain people. That's what I think happened with Joshua and Jodie; it was the right person at the right time in the right moment.

Or Diane and Norman. If you think about how long Diane and Joshue were together and both had their first child with their new partner not that far apart, it does go to show that goals and dreams change when you meet someone else

That, plus I think that there's just some people you date/live with that you look at and mentally go "Nope" because you know on a certain level it's a bad job, you know?

Diane said in an interview that she started to want kids in her mid 30s, and her and Joshua tried "very hard" to have one but it "didn’t work out". So I wonder if while trying for a baby they realized they don’t want to have kids with each other? 🫣

Trying to get pregnant and not succeeding can put a huge amount of stress on a relationship. She turned 35 in 2011, which was halfway through their decade long relationship. I wouldn't be surprised if the frustration of trying to get pregnant for five years was a contributing factor to their breakup.
