Universal Music Group has announced a partnership with artificial intelligence music company Endel, a deal that will help its artists create AI-assisted music. But don't expect mainstream pop hits to use this tech (at least not yet). The AI company specializes in “functional music” - (sleeping, white noise, meditation). Artists such as James Blake and Grimes have used Endel in the past to make their own ambient tracks. Artists from Republic and Interscope Records are already working on tracks, which will surface in the next few months.
