Stevie Nicks posted a letter for the "Lost Futures of Uvalde" which became a prime example of ~covert narcissism disguised as altruism.

In a two page letter tagged #UvaldeStrong, Nicks talked about moving to El Paso, Texas in third grade, her grandfather telling her how wonderful her voice is and how she was going to be a singing ballerina. Then talked about 5th grade, wearing her first top hat at a sixth grade talent show, moving to California, joining Fleetwood Mac and getting to "become Stevie Nicks."

Only on the bottom of page two does she wonder what if she had been shot and killed in third grade and that makes her think of the young children killed in their Uvalde classroom. She then proclaimed to keep the story alive by...? 🤷🏽♀️

The comments are praising her letter and how she made them cry so maybe not as misguided as your OP thought.
