I choose to believe it after the Deja Vu writing credit debacle.

You didn't invent shouting in songs TayTay.

There’s actually a guy on YouTube who analyzes these things and a while back I saw a video said that while Olivia very much took a little too much inspiration from paramore, Taylor’s was a reach.

Yeah the “yeah I want it to be like messy” and I wouldn’t ask for credit ..:I would be flattered.

But obviously Mariah wouldn’t want a writing credit on her tired song.

i still think the paramore thing is dumb af. they were similar yes, like you jammed out in the same way but the chorus melodies are completely different. i never clicked it when i first heard good 4 u and i was a paramore stan

I thought it was sweet and an homage.

Did Haley force her to put her as a writing credit too?

apparently they were in talks before good 4 u even came out, and about how they were going to get an interpolation credit, not a writing credit. they were always supposed to have it but hayley and josh's names didn't pop up until after so everyone thought they pushed for it but it sounds like it was always meant to be there

That’s one out of like 50 differences between HW & TS

It was their publisher. I didn’t get the vibe that Hayley pushed for it bc she posted “our publisher wildin” at the time

Hayley didn’t push for it, their publisher did
It bums me out cause I would’ve loved a collab

See, I am not a Paramore stan, and every time I'm browsing radio stations and land on the chorus of "good 4 u," my first thought is STILL "yay, my favorite Paramore song!" before I forcibly remind myself otherwise.

I seriously thought it sampled the Paramore song and was confused when people told me it didn't initially, or at least they weren't credited lol.

Someone else said this but the first time I heard good for you I also thought it was paramore at first.

I get it to an extent but I think that was about as much as she should’ve credited.

If anyone is interested, Adam Neely is the YouTuber and he’s well versed in music theory and actually explains the similarities in terms of music theory.

Hope you enjoy! He does them for other lawsuits too and I think they’re really good explanations even for me though I suck at music theory!

I’m a HUGE Paramore fan and I don’t think they should’ve gotten writing credit tbh
