Totally disagree! I love the movie as a separate entity, but the book is scary as fuck.

this takes are always so interesting to me because it felt like kubrick increased all the shitty points of the book (the racist treatment of Hallorann) and diminished the truly great parts (Wendy coming into her own as a mother, the family drama). the book is significantly more interesting to me
