How do you act like you smell bad?
His shenanigans are dumb, but I don't see how the pat ONTD anti-method acting phrase applies here.

But racism is an attitude and behavior, which actors can perform. How do you act like you smell bad? No one can explain it, so I'm just going to assume people are being silly.

He's talking about smelling bad, not Henry VIII's attitude, personality, and behaviors, which are more in line with what an actor is supposed to do, at least as far as my understanding of what acting is. How does one act like they fucking smell bad? Wouldn't that be enforced method acting for everyone else? People are just saying shit that doesn't make sense for this particular instance.

I know. I didn't say he wasn't method acting. I agreed that he was being obnoxious. But he said he wore this perfume because the real Henry 8 smelled bad. Others are saying "why not just act?" Act like what? Like you stink? How? If someone had said "He could just have a grimace on his face while pretending to smell the festering exudate from his fucked up leg" I'd be satisfied. But no one can say how the guy's supposed to act his way out of it, so I don't think they're even paying attention to what they're saying. Instead of "why not just act (like you smell bad)?" say "why not just stop being an idiot, Jude Law?" which I would have taken zero issue with.
