I really dislike how stans talk about their faves on SM. They talk about them like they know them, and they don't. Taylor Swift and Harry Styles fans do it a lot.

But on the other hand, there is a group of people who refer to her as "Taylor Swift" every time they mention her name and it creeps me out.

Like how, lol? Do they say things like "Taylor Swift did this! Taylor Swift is thinking that?"

Yes, exactly! There is a superfan on YT who always does this. I just clicked on one of her videos to get an example. She just said, "Taylor Swift is definitely going to sing 'Cruel Summer' on this tour."

I just find it so weird.

LOL, this reminds me of the show "Popular" where the character Mary Cherry always referred to herself in third person by her full name!

Maybe it's an age thing? So many young people are excitable and feel a deep connection to their faves.

Random but this reminds me of how, in American films, people often introduce themselves in casual contexts using their first and last name and I'm always very WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT. Idk if it's an ESL thing but I find it so, so weird lol

I’m American and I think that’s weird af. In business settings, yes. In casual meetings? It should be first name only.
