The creation of Misty's dream musical, the collision of the past and present worlds and a Wilderness beating. The cast and creators break down Episode 7, Burial. New episodes stream every Friday on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
I really liked this past episode, definitely one of my favorites. I’m So glad they are finally all together. Loved their adult selves interacting, reminiscing, laughing, etc. The dancing in the snow, intercutting back to their past selves. Not so happy about the Van reveal. Loved the comedic bits, especially with adult Misty. Most people called the Lottie therapist reveal, but good to have confirmation, she’s just completely losing it. That Shauna/Lottie ‘fight’ was brutal. More and more I think Shauna is the antler queen. I don’t love how fast adult Natalie is onboard with cult, plus some of her acting choices still feel a little off. Coach is DONE done, I wonder how long they’re gonna drag it out before he becomes food. I am so over the Adam/cop storyline, it’s so unrealistic (even for this show) and it takes me out of the main narrative. As usual great music throughout used perfectly, (Lighting Crashes was one of my all time favorite songs growing up as an angsty emo teen.) Plus that wacky musical dream/ hallucination sequence and a cute baby goat!! Overall thought it was a great episode!
I keep waiting for Natalie to reveal she’s been playing along to keep spying on Lottie but after this ep I think she’s actually bought in.
Tbh it’s not that surprising to me when I think about it. The main catalyst for her using drugs (Travis) is gone and she’s truly rock bottom. I can see her clinging to the cult in the aftermath of that. Especially now that she blames herself.
Yeah that’s what I was hoping too, that she was spying or faking it, but I agree after this episode I think she’s actually all in. I can understand why, I just don’t love it. There’s also this weird meta feeling when I’m watching her talk about and buy into the cult stuff, considering the real life Juliette/Scientology connection.
