he's a loser who needs to be held accountable but 20 years is too much

he lied to the NTSB when he reported the crash and claimed he didn't know where the site was, then flew with a friend so he could get his cameras to and get the footage later. the bulk of those years are for obstructing a federal investigation

Trevor Daniel Jacob admitted to authorities he planned to crash his plane in a video he made to promote a wallet.

im really glad the article doesnt list what wallet. he did all of this for a sponsored ad for a wallet? i wonder how much they paid him and did they know about his plan.

my wallet is a metal cardholder from daiso thats held up for almost 10yrs now like bruh

People could have died.

I always ask people, if you think this is too much, what would be the appropriate charge or sentence for such a thing?

10 years? he's not gonna get 20. he's being charged with obstructing an investigation anyway, not with crashing the plane.

So, why 10? Because it's half of 20?

If they said 40, would you have said "maybe 20?"

What is leading you to these numbers?

I'm just glad the hills are still green from the abnormal rain we had this year. This could have started a huge brush fire.

No as someone who works in aviation, sounds about right.

No, they need to give him the full sentence, ban him from piloting a plane for life, and make an example out of him. This is completely unhinged, like others have stated, he could've killed someone or cause a forest fire. And all this for what? A couple of "likes" from strangers/bots for advertising/sponsorship money??

Luckily for him, neither of those things happen, but now there's a all crap from the plane wreckage just sitting on that mountain and no one to clean it up. I don't even like people littering on a small scale, this is infinitely worse. And you never know when there's gasoline involved, you could be just a hot summer day away from igniting it.
