There was a fuck up at my local station and Becoming Part 2 didn't air and I had to wait all fucking summer for them to rerun it again before I could see it. Kids these days will never understand.

That happened with Graduation Day Part 1 in Season 3! The local WB station had a blackout for some reason and didn’t play it. I was working at a movie theater back then and it was opening night of Star Wars Episode I, so before the movie, I made an announcement in the auditorium asking if anyone taped tonight’s Buffy lol. Luckily they aired it a few days later but then of course the network delayed Part 2 a few months after that.

Apparently there had been a school shooting in the news around the time so some stations pulled the episode because it was about kids running around the school with weapons

I understood that more in regard to Earshot - where an actual gun and a wholly human attempt to mass murder the student body were involved - than I did the finale. It was a giant snake monster. You might as well have cancelled every fantasy movie or show from airing while you were at it

Oh, I couldn't wait, I fully read a complete transcript. Yes, before we could download full episodes of TV shows people would write up complete transcripts. I actually read a lot of BtVS ones because I started watching it in season 2 and a couple episodes from season 1 never reran.
