That last line is super passive aggressive and almost feels…like a dog whistle? Am I being paranoid? Like I remember him expressing disappointment that Aladdin didn’t get a sequel, and now he’s all “TLM won’t do as well as mine did, but it’ll probably get a sequel anyway.” What the hell are you trying to say, sir???

I think he's just bitter because Aladdin is still the only big role he has done and the sequel which would be the second is taking forever.

I think Aladdin didnt end up being a break out role for him. I swear he said once that he didnt get any auditions in the year after it came out.

Lily James is the only one it seems who's lead a Disney remake and gone on to have a better career. They don't have the same impact MCU despite doing as well.

None of these big franchises like SW, Marvel and Disney live action are great career springboards.
Plus he was just ok as Aladdin. He didn’t really have enough charisma for the role; Will Smith was the real lead

It's that same tone people got when Black Panther did well. That, "well since you DARK AS NIGHT people got a smash hit however tf you did THAT, you BETTER all go support CRAZY RICH ASIANS!!" that, "well since people are standing up for YOUR rights marching in YOUR streets, you BETTER come show up and march for us too!!!" Meanwhile, the majority of the audience and people marching were just fellow black people lol. Like, they just always assume we cant possibly be why we succeeded and other forces were primarily at hand. What success we got was handed to us for free because we're the favorites and chosen ones, and it's not fair to the other races because they should be doing better than us and deserve success way more than we do. They're aghast about it. I could feel his hand on his chest in shock and appalment with the way he wrote that tweet. Like "oh SEE ugh that movies gonna hit 1bil too OK WELL MINE DID FIRST watch them get a sequel before me though because BLACK PEOPLE-" lol.
