In this economy, I also want to be Jay-Z offspring too lol
But all jokes aside, if he really hasn’t met this person just do the test or pay him off so you can get on with your life. It’s not like he has to inherit his fortune to this random guy. Blue Ivy already has that bag locked and secured

If Rymir isn't Jay-Z's, paying him off is a terrible idea. It tells every chancer on the block that he will pay out on bogus claims just to make them go away

If he is - then whether or not Jay-Z tries to pay him off now, it legally opens a door that cannot be shut and likely financial claims would rear their heads

Genuine question, say he does turn out to be his kid, what actual claims does he have to his money legally? Just because he’s his offspring doesn’t mean jay z is required to give him shit or to leave anything to him. Is it just that he can try to go after back child support? Wouldn’t it have to be his mother who did that? I have a lot of questions lol

Ngl, some back child support seems like chump change for someone like Jay Z to make this all go away.

Why should he pay him anything if he’s not his kid? He shouldn’t give anyone money just to make it go away. I just read the actual article and this kids case has been thrown out by multiple courts each and every time. He seems deluded - he tried to sue him in civil court for “obstructing closure.” Like are you for real. He claims he just wants to prove that he’s right and jay z is his father, but that doesn’t track for me. No one fights this hard to force someone to claim you when they are making it very clear they want nothing to do with you. He’s doing this for money

This has nothing to do with paying him off. I meant if he took the test and was the father. If paying back child support was the worst thing he has to do, to someone with his wealth, it seems like a small thing to do to make this go away.

He doesn’t owe him squat other than that-and he may not even own him that. I don’t know what the law requires there.

Oh if he was the dad, of course. I understand not wanting to give in to the paternity test tho - it’s like someone else said elsewhere, that opens you up to anyone claiming that you’re the father of their kid and demanding dna tests or child support or whatever. Multiple courts have stated this kid doesn’t even have grounds to demand paternity tests from him and he keeps going - he seems to legit be harassing him through courts at this point

I was thinking more in terms of future estate planning etc, because it can be harder than it sounds to totally disinherit a child, but I think back support is also a possibility. Though most places you’re correct it would usually be the other parent who files for that.

Hard to generalise about because it can vary a lot between jurisdictions, but whatever action is available it all starts with getting parental status confirmed.

Edit: but as I think about it, this guy just seems so litigious anyway that even if he had a positive DNA result but no actual basis for a lawsuit, I think he’d try shit anyway. Most people would have given up trying to pursue this after being shot down that many ways by a court

In the U.S., it's not hard at all to totally disinherit a child.
