idk maybe the bar is low but i appreciate anyone vocally owning up to mistakes and explaining their growth. we've all done things we regret, or said dumb shit when we were younger, or maybe even did a 180 in our belief systems. i don't think cancel culture is a real issue the way FOX talks about it or whatever but i do think our culture could do better to encourage dialogue about past mistakes as errors rather than necessarily character-defining things ( ... )

ITA. No one is perfect. Even usually wonderful people have bad days and say and do things they ordinarily would not. It's much more shady to me when people act like they have never done anything they feel bad about.

Similarly I feel the same about people who say “I don’t regret anything in life or look back” lol shut up you pretentious shit! Everyone regrets something.

it's also like...if you were alive in certain times/decades/years/eras....you probably said a word here or there you wouldn't say today, or had a belief you definitely wouldn't subscribe to. everyone is a product of their time and surroundings to an extent (even if some people are much "worse" than others).

I always take negative celebrity encounter stories with a grain of salt. The amount of people who think celebrities owe the public their time and don't think it's rude to approach a stranger eating dinner with their family to ask for a photo is enough to make me question anyone's version of events.

Me too. Especially when they are known for trying to keep their personal lives private.
My Brother was watching these guys talk about video games & stuff on YouTube. And one said he didn't like a certain celebrity because he saw him at a Los Angeles grocery store & the celebrity was rude to him.
I was like; "The celebrity probably just wanted to shop in peace."
