Probably the only thing good thing about tonight’s MTV Movie Award was some sneak peek footage of ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 2 Episode 7 “Burial”. Buzz buzz buzz!

Oh damn, there’s a clue in season 1 that makes me think some shit’s about to go down. If I’m right, spoilers below!

[Potentially spoilery guess about next episode] One of Sammy’s drawings in his window in season 1 depicts someone getting struck by lightning. The song they use here is “Lightning Crashes.” I think someone’s about to die. The lyrics of the song are:

Lightning crashes
An old mother cries
Her placenta falls to the floor
The angel opens her eyes
The confusion sets in
Before the doctor can even close the door
Lightning crashes
An old mother dies
Her intentions fall to the floor

The song could just be used to reference Shauna’s birthing scene in the last episode, but it might be prescient. There’s a sort of rumble before it shows the adults dancing in the snow, it could be the fire but it could be thunder? If the song is taken literally it might mean one of the adults is about to die, but that would make Sammy’s drawing prophetic and I hope that’s not the case.

[Spoiler (click to open)]I think it’ll be the coach, if it’s in the past. In Sammy’s drawing there’s a smaller figure that looks like a boy, and I think that’s Shauna’s baby and someone will get struck during or after the burial. He’s losing it and might be suspicious of Misty re:Crystal’s death based on the preview, and we haven’t really spent much time with any of the other girls besides Akilah and I think they’re saving her fate to be mouse-related. If it’s the adults I think it might be Nat. My only reasoning for that is that her storyline is pretty much wrapped up and the others are still very much in the middle of theirs. If it’s Shauna it would be eerily close to the song but I don’t think they’ll take her out.

LOL I've heard a ton of Pearl Jam songs a million times without really knowing any of the lyrics.

Like it wasn't until my adulthood I realized its "Jeremy spoke in class today." Never crossed my mind to look it up I guess. My bad.

[Spoiler (click to open)] that is an interesting theory, and I missed Sammy’s drawing in season 1. I was thinking the use of Lightning Crashes was more about it being a 90’s song about a birth gone wrong. Given the showrunners love for Tori Amos, they could have used Spark, so Lightning Crashes may have another meaning, which does make it interesting. or they just needed a more “rock” type song to fit the mood of the scene.

[Spoiler (click to open)]Yeah it could def just be about the birthing scene. The thing that really made me think about it is the figure of what appears to be a baby in the drawing. Since this is the last we’ll be seeing the baby I figured it was too much of a coincidence with the song, but it’s all just guessing based on blurry drawings in a window that may or may not mean anything lol
