I find it really scary that people can believe striking someone 41 times with an axe is self defense.

I learned from watching crime movies and shows with my dad (he worked in law enforcement, not in the US though so laws might be different a bit) that you can't claim self defense when you clearly continued to inflict violence after the point of defending yourself. Which obviously happened here.

I watched Deadly Women and I remembered former FBI profiler Candice DeLong said that someone repeatedly stabbing was their way of saying, "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you." It was them letting it all out on their victim.

Fuck Elizabeth Olsen's overrated ass for this "Defending Candy."

Candy’s support breaks up into a few camps - some think she did defend herself but went overboard and others fully believe she was justified in going overboard. I think time has swayed a lot of opinion against her, especially when people do deep dives into the case.
Eta I completely forgot about the unhinged Olsen stans who think Betty deserved it and Candy paid her dues because she’s a councelor now.

It was interesting going back and reading one of Jessica Biel's interviews where one of the pieces of evidence (that a lens from Candy's sunglasses was found in the garage by where the axe was stored when Candy claims she never went into the garage) had her once flipping out and saying Candy was full of shit.

And I'm realizing that the decision to not costume Olsen accurately means something like would probably be left out of HBO's version.
