Do they still do the VMA’s? Would they even have a slot to air it on? MTV doesn’t seem to want to let anyone miss Ridiculousness.

I want to know who's idea it was to make the network 90% Ridiculousness content so I can ask them WHY

They should just go back to showing music videos and act like it’s a novel and innovative idea.

they should pivot back to making the video, diary etc. it’s the closest analogue they have to what goes on with social media re: celebs. it could be a “legitimizing” thing for more a-list or adjacent people who typically stay away from it or are perceived to be above it - so viewers would want to tune in instead of thinking “i’ll just go on intsta/tiktok/whatever.” and bring back buzzbin and animated shows like downtown and daria. if they really leaned into their brand/legacy more people would respond imo.

they can show reruns of their old shows that they forget exist
the only time I put on MTV at all anymore is for the VMAs, cause the rest of the time it's just Ridiculousness

they have soooo many shows in their catalogue that they could re-run. both music-related and reality. i wonder why they only show ridiculousness.

I think they don’t have the music rights to a lot of their old shows anymore

I think a recent VMA, ONTD didn't even care. It was truly a "should I make a post?" thing as the FFA Sunday was happening. RIP

They used to be great posts. I'd be moving back into university and tune into them/ONTD.
