couples therapy =/= couples counseling.

i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing and i think we shouldn't view going to or feeling like we need to go to therapy as a sign that something's wrong.

Amen, couples therapy is helpful. Individual therapy can't do much because it's one-sided and one perspective. People go for different reasons whether things aren't going well, or they want things to just keep going well or even better. If it works, great! If not, at least there was an attempt to prevent any regret if they didn't try.

Also if they only got married last year, I know for some people it's common to do some couples therapy sessions before a wedding to sort of fully make sure everyone's on the same page.
