May 2, 2023 Ed Sheeran is currently being sued by Ed Townsend's heirs (co-writer of 'Let's Get it On'), who claim there are 'striking similarities' between the tracks. They are seeking $100 million in restitution.
Sheeran on the other hand vows he will quit music if the jury finds him guilty. "If that happens, I'm done, I'm stopping," Sheeran said when asked by his attorney about the toll the trial is taking on him.
"I find it really insulting to devote my whole life to being a performer and a songwriter and have someone diminish it," he added.
