It is unclear exactly when the snap was taken but the forgiving victim shared the image to her private Instagram account just after the publication of her interview with France’s Le Point magazine - in which she insisted the 89-year-old had “paid his debt to society.”
since when
“Let me be very clear: what happened with Polanski was never a big problem for me,” Geimer told Seigner of the March 1 attack, which happened during a photo shoot at Jack Nicholson’s house.
“I didn’t even know it was illegal, that someone could be arrested for it. I was fine, I’m still fine,” she maintained, despite previously suing him for intentional infliction of emotional distress for the assault
The fact that we’ve made this [a big deal] weighs on me terribly,” she said, according to a translation by IndieWire.
“To have to constantly repeat that it wasn’t a big deal, it’s a terrible burden.”
did she become born again or something? not even she forgives him but instead it was never that serious...wild
I think she always wanted it to all go away. She previously sued him but I think she probably realized it wasn't gonna be easy...
I imagine the international and industry support for him must've gotten to her cause it indirectly positions her as the bad guy cause he can't come back to the US or completely be in ~peace~ cause of the legal issues of it.
So part of me is sympathetic to her but I don't like ANY of this either.
I completely understand her desire to not be defined by what happened to her.
But like, MADAM. At the end of the day this was a fully grown man who SA'd you when you were a child. Your quest to not be defined by what he did should not include you trying to downplay the fact that he is an unrepentant sexual predator.
tbh I don’t doubt she regrets ever saying anything about it. Polanski's life was barely affected, meanwhile hers is defined by crime committed against her. Seeing all of these famous people support him must have been a trip too. I get that it pushed her to a place where she thinks downplaying what happened might make it all go away.
definitely. older generations downplay every type of trauma tbh. severe physical and emotional abuse, mental illness, death, just... any type of suffering. they prefer to ignore it and let just fester within their souls.
Right right right, no disrespect to her but she can be fine with it all she wants. I and the rest of the sane people left on this planet will continue to persecute these deranged pedophiles and sex offenders.

If she truly forgives him, that's her choice and that's fine. But that doesn't make what he did any less of a crime.
