who's the hook? i find that the hook can really make or break a live action adaptation, especially if he also plays mr darling

The cartoon version is dull and boring too, so the problem is probably the source material.

honestly, my fav Pan is the 2003 version with Jason Issacs. didn't even realize he played both characters til near the end of the movie but i think he really made it Not Pure Trash

Came in here to say the perfect Peter Pan adaptation already exist; it’s the 2003 one! Jason Isaacs was phenomenal in both roles.

That is just officially the best version! No one can say otherwise! Perfect casting. Great music! Great chemistry between peter and wendy. Actually great chemistry between everyone! And great dialogue. Quite witty at times. And good banter!

It was so emotional! But funny and heartwarming and made me want to cry at times.

And how sad Peter is at the end to be leaving her and his friends, but still not being able to stay (cos of his reasons) breaks my heart! It's just gorgeous.

I mean the whole scene of them first going to neverland and him whispering in her ear, and her saying "never is an awfully long time"..with the swelling of the music!

I can see its influence in this new trailer/version too. Especially with the casting of wendy and a lot of the tone/shots.

**also that Jeremy dude was a really great Peter. Like he perfectly captured his trickster, smart ass side, but also being emotionally stunted with issues.

2004 version remains the best version imo

Jason Isaacs as Mr Darling/Hook is the best.
