To the surprise of no one, The Super Mario Bros. movie was a runaway success* making MORBILLION MARBILLION dollars in less than a month of release
*(inb4: I thought no one would see it bc of pratt, that's what ontd told me!' you think we got 1 billion dollars on here? all 100 of us? and we all lied and went to pay for it? you flatter us!)
Starring Jack Black, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogan, and Anya Taylor-Joy, the Nintendo property in collabs with Universal/Illumination....well, made money, as the first movie in 2023 to cross the 1B mark.
it might be the only one to do so, I think the only other true contender is Fast X.
