I know she has more money than God but I would NOT want to be as famous as she is. I’d be so paranoid that every single interaction I had could be someone with ulterior motives or wanting something from me etc etc. and then there’s the fear of never feeling like I could completely let loose without someone leaking any and everything to the press. I imagine everything in her life has to be so very controlled (and much of it for good reason). I’d never feel like I could completely relax.

I think I remember reading a profile about her in Rolling Stone during the 1989 era. IIrc she even mentioned then how paranoid she gets about people recording her and such. And she’s only gotten even more popular since.

When you’re at that level of fame - the pressure to always be on your ps and qs must be exhausting. Because while you do have an army who fans who love you, so many also just want to tear you down.

I love that I can get occasionally drunk at a party and show my ass without ever haunting me forever lol. And thankfully when I was in HS, social media wasn’t popular yet lmao

I really thought the pandemic was going to end celebrity culture or at least seriously knock it towards a slow death. It feels like, if anything, it's accelerated it and she's probably going to be the last megastar (coming out of the US) because there's just so many celebs now and no one can make a splash the way she did. For her sake, I hope the fame monster doesn't consume her and one day she decides it's been enough. But maybe not, maybe she'll be desire popularity forever.

That was bananas, and the worst thing is you know part of it is crowd work but it's also just true. I think part of the reason for the timing of this breakup is the fans are her getaway car. She's done it before, last time she was single was when she ramped up the parasocial interaction with fans on tumblr

i think she struggles with balancing it all out (well who wouldn't lol) because she craves the validation and adoration but still wants her privacy. the way she's been doing it for the last 3 years~ when she would disappear between promo cycles was imo not ideal cause it does make fans feel like she only interacts with them when she wants their money but going on tour she now seems to be going too far in the other direction lol! idk her fame and how she approaches is fascinating to me as a long time tswift enjoyer. it's all a performances obviously but it's the way she's lying even to herself that's interesting

I often think about how different it must be for stars of Taylor's kind of fame now compared to even the early 00s when it was the boybands and Brit/Xtina. For all the trouble they had back then, at least not every single person in sight was a potential paparazzo. Now every single person in a room can be snapping pics and recording.

In some ways it was worse with the way paps just hounded them like literally all over them, can't physically move your body or car without hitting anybody, and all those flashes where they couldn't see where they were going, Britney especially. Regular people film from far away and zoom in... it's still super instrusive but no physical harm.

Yeah I was thinking about how we’ve never even like seen her at Disneyland (she’s probably gone but idk) because like. Swifties are SO insane even if she had security and cast members with her she would get mobbed. Maybe she has a crazy good disguise idk. Lots of celebs go to Disney and yeah they get photos taken but in general it doesn’t look like they’re mobbed

True but someone with her level of wealth can get a private run of the entire park after hours or before they're publically opened. They don't even need to be fully staffed to let one group of people on rides.
