Kelly was warned not to go out with her co-star by executive producer Peter Berg.

Seriously though, when a man is telling you it's not a good idea to go out with someone believe them. A lot of men go to bat for each other, so if they're actively warning you against another man it's for a damn good reason.

That read more like a producer trying to stop onset drama from an inevitable breakup between costars.

That might be true but when have directors/producers ever cared about that? I think he was trying to do the good sis a solid and she wasn't having it.

Eh, he can’t hate him that much since Taylor is gonna be the lead in a Netflix series he’s producing.

You can work with someone and still think they're a horrible dating prospect.

why would he go out of his way to give a job to someone he doesn‘t like, esp since Taylor Kitsch is box office poison

actually nvm let’s just agree to disagree 🤝

No worries! I think we can both agree that he's usually the worse part of whatever project he's in.

Yeah in my experience when people give you a warning, even if you don’t believe it…it’s best to keep it in my mind and see if what someone told you starts lining up.

Workplace romances are a nightmare. That's just good advice.

It should go without saying you shouldn't shit where you eat, yet stars do it all of the time. I would never, lol.

And then they have a crap experience and complain about it years later. Like you were warned by everyone.

I interpreted it more as Peter wanting to avoid on set relationship drama.

Under other circumstances I'd agree, but...they don't get more douchebro-y than Peter Berg, lol. Maybe less so back in the day, but at no point would I consider him the type to thoughtfully warn a woman against a harmful man.

Right? How bad is it when men are warning you off.

The wording in this article is weird, in the Daily Beast article it was more implied that Pete warned them both not to get involved after he spotted their chemistry on set, like others have said because workplace romances are messy.

Producers often tell teen/young actors not to date for precisely the reason that Minka is talking about. Inevitably it will fall apart and then everyone on set is uncomfortable and it creates all kinds of situations they'd like to avoid.

If fans are invested in that relationship, it creates even more headaches for everyone involved with the project and sometimes can affect box office, ratings, etc.
