April 12, 2023 James Bond won’t be younger anytime soon.
Franchise casting director detailed the criteria to play 007.
“When we started, it was a slightly different feel. We did look at a lot of younger actors, and I just don’t think they had the gravitas. They didn’t have the experience, they didn’t have the mental capacity to take it on, because it’s not just the part they’re taking on, it’s a massive responsibility.”
Craig was in his mid-30s at the time of being cast as Bond. He continued portraying the MI6 agent until “No Time to Die” in 2021.
The next Bond film is at least two years away.
