See, I didn’t like the gym scene, because Jeff going so hard for Shauna is gonna set off cop alarm bells with Kevyn. Jeff going all in is just gonna make Kevyn dig in harder and deeper. Because it’s the ones that protest the loudest that have something to hide. As much as I admire Jeff’s ride or die for Shauna, it may end up biting him back in the end, and I don’t want to see that happen.

It's really fascinating! I think the cop's expectation at first would be that Jeff found out about the affair & killed him out of jealousy, and Shauna may or may not be covering for him.

If I were the cop, I'm not sure I would be super confident in that theory after Jeff's confrontation at the gym. A normal guilty person would stay away from a cop once they know they're sniffing around. I don't know what's going to happen next at all.

I'm also a little confused about why the cops didn't know for sure if there was an affair until the daughter said something about it. The text messages have to reveal that anyway? Even if the texts aren't explicit or say stuff like I want you/I'm falling for you, there's 100s of them likely talking about meeting up and whatnot.

Yep! As a viewer I find it endearing but also know that being kinda dim is sort of a trademark of his character :)

I love Jeff lol. He read those journals, knows everything Shauna has done, and loves her unconditionally. I like how this show subverted the trope of having the unpopular “frumpy” friend pine after her popular pretty friend’s boyfriend.

Jeff is hilarious but I'm not sure his relationship with Shauna is a subversion of a trope. Shauna essentially says they start fucking as teens after Jeff was pissed that Jackie didn't want to have sex yet, so Shauna stepped in. If anything, it aligns with the popular girl with the obsessive BFF trope. Neither Shauna nor Jeff seemed to pine for each other as teens. but it seems that a loving relationship developed after the team was found.

Ooh true. I didn’t see that way because I was thinking of their relationship as adults and how they seem to actually love each other. But that’s true, I didn’t think of it like that (popular girl with obsessive BFF) because I was thinking that in other shows they might have Shauna staring forlornly at Jackie and Jeff while they kiss or something lol
