Broadway news: A revival of Lorraine Hansberry's "The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window" starring Oscar Isaac and Rachel Brosnahan will transfer to Broadway from @BAM_Brooklyn, opening on April 27, which will make it the last show to open this season. https://t.co/5MKXmhSCp6

I guess if you've got the cast and theater availability, a transfer makes sense, but word of mouth isn't amazing so those big names are gonna have to do all the heavy lifting for selling tickets. Which seems daunting for a three hour play! But I guess they must be confident or they wouldn't have transferred it.

Really hoping this doesn't cause too much drama with Tony noms, this season is already stacked.

I can easily see them missing Revival and only getting noms for their lead. Rachel will have a much more easier time getting in than Oscar though, Lead Actor is a bloodbath this year.

Yeah, I wouldn't be mad if that's how it turned out. I just don't want Topdog/Underdog or A Doll's House missing for this. And good luck to Oscar, because whew that category is stacked.

I mean I am sure the celebrity leads are what is drawing a lot of people in. That is why I was mainly drawn to see it!

Oh same here, and for sure! And hopefully 10 weeks is a short enough run for that to work, but I just worry that a lot of its potential audience already schlepped over to Brooklyn, lol.
