I wish it would’ve been a Pauline Kael biopic. Her reviews were so brutal, modern critics who have to choose their words carefully for fear of stans can’t relate.

I was just looking at that! I knew about the Herman Mankiewicz conspiracy theories but I didn’t know that she was the one responsible for them.

All the more reason for a movie about her feuding with absolutely everyone. I saw someone say Jennifer Jason Leigh should play her and that’s how we’re going to get her an Oscar.

Although googling Jennifer and Pauline...Jennifer does a tad bit closer to Pauline compared to Cate.

I could also see Isabelle Huppert but when I googled her name with Pauline Kael I saw Pauline has torn into Isabelle in her reviews before so maybe not lol

Critics aren't really bothered about choosing their words carefully though - Melissa Mccarthy and Amandla Stenberg in the modern age can testify to that.
