Just why? I’m sooo tired of reboots. Can’t we just get a new sci-fi show?

Part of me agrees with that, and part of me agrees with the sci-fi investigation theme of the series and it coming out and people immediately calling it a ripoff and it ultimately losing because of that. Idk. I just might want a new sci-fi investigation series. lol

Times have changed so much, I think the feel and even setting of the show will have to be so different you might as well make a new show. But everyone is scared to greenlight non-established IPs. Like someone down below said, conspiracy theories aren’t fun anymore. It’s all Alex Jones types and flat earth weirdos.

I remember Chris Carter talking about that a little with the revival series, that the conspiracies used to be more of a fun thing for the oddball outsiders to investigate like The Lone Gunman and Max. It was more fringe conspiracies that everyone thought was a joke/didn’t taken them seriously, so they were kind of seen as the underdogs back in the 90’s, and it was tough to navigate that with the new series when so much of that has become more mainstream and right-wing

It’s truly depressing when one thinks about it. I used to love watching documentaries on conspiracies, but it’s just no fun anymore.
And I so many people thought the flat earther documentary on Netflix was hilarious, but it just angered me because these people are so anti-science
