they were migrants but I don't know from where, is that a popular/common name there? We just thought they may have been super religious

I don't know if that specific name is popular but I don't think it's uncommon to have names like that.

Seen some names like 'BlessingofGod' GodsGift'

You KNOW African parents don’t hold back on the religious names. Kids are roaming around and when they tell you their names it’s Archangel and Blessed By God

I knew a girl from Cameroon named Beni de Dieu. Took me til high school to figure that one out (thanks, French class!). long story short, I was not impressed.

Lol, I have an acquaintance whose legal first name is Goddess and she’s Nigerian. She goes by her middle name (which is beautiful) instead.

I had never heard a name like that before, it's a burdensome name, what if the kid will grow up not to be religious?

One of my cousin's friends named her son Say Praise, which made me think of Puritan slogan names when she told me. I scoffed for a split second, but then I liked it.
