No matter how many years go by, I'll never get over how they expected us to believe Karen was better than Ivy lmaoo

They really fucked up the casting. Ivy was so talented and well-suited for Marilyn that it felt like an out of body experience every single time they pushed Karen.

I’m not saying that Katherine McPhee doesn’t have a lovely voice but Megan Hilty was so clearly the superior Broadway lead that it never once worked.

Too bad Laura Osnes is an antivax nut. Otherwise I would have loved to finally see her as Karen

Man, it's so unfair when amazingly talented people turn out to pieces of shit. Why can't you be a piece of shit AND an untalented hack?

I've always said it would have made wayyyy more sense to switch their storylines - have pretty, naive Karen be the one dating the director and getting the role and long-time chorus girl Ivy who's way more talented seething on the sidelines. But that would have made both characters somewhat morally grey instead of the underdog heroine Karen vs villain Ivy setup they were going for in S1, so instead they wanted us to believe that Karen deserved the role over Ivy when she clearly did not lol

I had no idea who Megan Hilty was when I watched the show and was so baffled that I started googling.

I just watched the show for the time a year ago (idk how I missed it back in the day, I was literally the demographic for it lol) and I was so confused, wondering if viewers agreed at the time. Bc I felt like I was taking crazy pills.
