Daisy Jones & The Six - "Let me Down Easy" (from Daisy Jones & The Six)
Let's start with the fictional it-band of the moment. They're kinda good, actually! "Let Me Down Easy" is the first song Daisy and Billy, the toxic duo at the center of the story, writes together. It marks the start of a a productive and collaborative phase for the entire band, but good things don't last very long in this universe. After the success of their album, "Aurora" (available in a streaming services), they disbanded.

Crucial Taunt - "Ballroom Blitz" (from Wayne's World)
This is my post and covers count, ok! Fronted by Cassandra Wong (who is portrayed by the magnificent, electric and radiant Tia Carrere) Crucial Taunt is the plot device around which the story rotates. During the movie, they play several covers, culminating in this energetic screeching punk perfection.

School of Rock - "Rock Got No Reason" (from School of Rock)
A washed-out old rocker manchild fakes his way into a school and takes children on unsanctioned field trips in an effort to win a battle of the bands. Sounds like a lawsuit - but hold off judgement until you hear how tight their sound is, bro!

Sex Bob-omb - "Garbage Truck" (from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)
As Scott Pilgrim battles Ramona's exes, Sex Bob-omb is battling bands. "Garbage Truck" is their opener, and this cool garage punk indie inspired track earns their spot in the next battle.

The Clash at Demonhead - "Black Sheep" (from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)
Speaking of covers, this is one of those moments where the cover eclipses the original. I think the internet had a mini-meltdown when, a decade after the movie came out, the cover was finally available as part of the movie soundtrack. OP was finally able to retire the Youtube mp3 rip-off that had sustained them all these years.

Josie and the Pussycats - "Josie and the Pussycats through the Ages" (Cartoon Network segment)
One of the originators! There's the original cartoon and the movie, which is filled with great 2000s pop punk anthems, but OP was legit obsessed with this interstitial segment from Cartoon Network so that's what you're getting.

The Hex Girls - "Earth, Wind, Fire and Air" (from Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost)
Sick band name, great stage looks, banger songs. It's no wonder they immediately became cult-favorites.

The Stains - "Join the Professionals" (from Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains)
Baby Diane Lane and baby Laura Dern start a punk band. It ain't pretty, but it's good.

Lady Parts - "Bashir with the Good Beard" (from We Are Lady Parts)
This to me is THE BEST fictional band of all time. I'm actually mad they're not real because I would have absolutely STANNED, like, I would've worn my Lady Parts t-shirt to death by now. The show is great, everyone should watch and listen to the original songs (also all available to stream!).

lol, obviously, I have my music biases. So tell me, ONTD, what are your favorite songs from fictional bands or artists?
