ONTD, what's your go-to karaoke song? If you're not a karaoke person, what's your favorite song to sing at the top of your lungs when you're alone in your car?
I liked Eddie and cried when Dustin told his uncle he was dead but I am sick to death of the 'everything is all about Eddie' stans and that is even leaving aside the batshit Eddie stans' harassment/terrorising of Grace van Dien.
also got sick of the metal bros hyping up that badly done "Master of Puppets is cool so let's have a gratuitous bit of posturing for Eddie and never mind that the song is weirdly uptempo as a tune to set Max running for her life, let's indulge the metal stans" scene. I'm legit glad the character is dead, please don't come back next season, I really can't take more screen time going to side characters who'd basically exist just for certain types of fans to project on.
also unpopular opinion - enough w the overload of Steve and Dustin, Dustin needs to go back to interacting more with his (same age) friends next season cause his scenes with Mike/Max/Lucas were actually his best in season 4.
That scene made me tear up, too, but I agree that Eddie is overrated. But Billy had lots of stans too and I'll never get it (obviously Eddie is a better character, not comparing the two, just commenting on people's taste)
I think Eddie was clearly a breakout star, especially when seeing how much of a difference there was between the character and the actor, but the stans are unhinged. Crazy stans are why we can't have nice things.
don't get me wrong I liked the character and I'm glad for Joseph Quinn getting his breakthrough.
but in general I don't have much patience for the Stranger Things older teen male character stans and for the amount of fanservice devoted to those characters. Even the Steve stans retroactively excusing the 'slut' graffiti-ing and homophobic namecalling (of a presumed dead child) in season 1 as "he was just worried! and angry because he thought she was cheating!" and "his friends did it! He just watched!" etc., calling Nancy a cheater for season 2, etc. don't exactly come across much better.
It's very telling that Billy had as many stans as he did after season 2 despite being a violent racist because "he's only that way because of his abusive dad" meanwhile Nancy and Max were getting shit on left and right.
Not only does Dustin need to hang out with his same age friends, when he is with them he needs to shut up and let them speak. I hated how poor Caleb got stuck with Dustin in scenes cause all he got to do was stand in the background while Gaten had all the lines.
I like Gaten, but they really need to quit with over-doing the fan service.
