I think it's like if Peter Sarsgaard did ASMR. That's the voice of a man with someone in his trunk. He's apologetic about it, but sometimes things happen that he just can't remember.

I hate asmr. I get a response alright… utter rage and disgust. Like the physical reaction when having those emotions.

Watched and I’m still kinda meh about the whole thing. 1. It’s too dark, you can’t see shit and 2. It very much feels like a show where you need to have read the books (which I’m not opposed to, but it fails as a stand alone thing).

I'm 5/8 through S2. I'm liking it so far. Vaguely spoilery thoughts -
-Love but also sad at so many Crooked Kingdom plot points used so early
-Like we're seeing the Darklings apparently underlings/followers sprinkled about. So far only show-only characters but it really plants seeds for the plot points in Nikolai's duology
-Definitely agree this is no longer a stand alone or as reliant on the show material and can't really put my finger on why. Definitely less hand holding on the terminology and in-universe rules. I feel like they expanded the world building a little too quickly.
-Love Jessie but some of the takes they used... Either they did them dirty or they need to go through the dailies more frequently.
- Wylan - no notes. The casting was well done.
- Nikolai - he's does a decent job but he clashes too much with my mental image of him lmao. Sad some of his plot points were dropped but I see why.

I like Nikolai in the show but feel like he's a different character in the books. I wish they didn't hurry the story so much so we could get more scenes with him and Alina, I don't entirely buy that he's into her.

[Spoiler (click to open)]They break up and go their separate ways, unlike in the book. They do have sex before then, though, but Malina shippers have talked about how their ship is "endgame" for two years now to mock Darklina shippers and now it turns out that neither ship is endgame lol

i'm only 4 eps in and it's well... its clear to me they had no faith that they were getting any more seasons so they decided to cram in the crows books in there which was certainly a choice.

anyway i'm still down for a crows spinoff despite it all because i think they nailed the casting for the most part and the cast have chemistry and enjoy each other off-screen it'd be sad to see it wasted. i'm willing to ignore whtver they did in s2 if they give me the six of crows show.
